Mission Statement and Guiding Principles
The Office of Institutional Resarch and Planning facilitates Western Carolina University's strategic planning, institutional research and effectiveness process. Our office has three guiding principles.
Guiding Principle I
OIRP is a trusted provider of accurate, timely, and unbiased research-based information in support of the University's operational, strategic mission-related activities, and external reporting requirements.
Guiding Principle II
OIRP serves as a facilitative leader in support of the University's public service mandate to provide a high quality education for leaders of North Carolina, the region, and the nation.
Guiding Principle III
OIRP's purpose is to serve the University's broader community's information needs and will respond to requests from its stakeholders in a timely and satisfactory manner.
